ARTI Academics Hosts Real Estate Economic Forecast
Real Estate Economic Forecast
On January 29th ARTI Academics hosted the Real Estate Economic Forecast. Moderated by Dr. Amanda Wickra, Ed.D., Director of Education at ARTI Academics, and featuring keynote speakers Neil Walter, CFA, and Jon Walter, MBA. The event was live broadcasted over Facebook and Zoom. This free public event, sponsored by ERA Brokers, NAI Excel, and NAI Vegas drew an attendance of approximately 500 people.
Neil Walter and Jon Walter provided insight on key trends that are moving commercial and residential markets in Southern Nevada, Southern Utah, and the Wasatch Front. Analysis of the decisions that move real estate prices suggest that in most cases, real estate prices will continue to increase in the near term. Population growth, lower interest rates, housing shortage, increasing construction costs, and additional economic stimulus are significant drivers of current market conditions. Looking to the future, they recommend watching changes in government policies in response to the pandemic, the migration from urban to rural, and new construction.
ERA Brokers, NAI Excel, and NAI Vegas published their annual research reports. The 2021 Residential Review and 2021 Commercial Real Estate Outlook, are publicly available at www.erabrokers.com, www.naiexcel.com, and www.naivegas.com.

What Skills Are Needed To Be A Successful Real Estate Agent
Be A Successful Real Estate Agent
Learn what skills are needed to be successful in the real estate industry.
As real estate agents, we must continuously enhance and develop our skill sets. ARTI Academics often gets the question, “what skills do I need to be a successful real estate agent?” There are various sets of skills that will position you to be a successful real estate agent, such as communication, collaboration, time management, marketing, advanced knowledge of market conditions, and adaptability (and a great sense of humor).
Communication
Being able to convey important information to clients, real estate agents, and other individuals in a real estate transaction is critical. As the agent, your relied upon to be level-headed and informed about the sale that you’re working on. The difference between a deal getting done or not getting done may be correlated with how the agent listens to the client and then communicates information between the parties. Individuals who use poor grammar, misguided phrases, and are unresponsive should be cautioned about getting into the real estate business.
Collaboration
Real estate is a team business. You will be working together with various parties, including title officers, lenders, home inspectors, 3rd party intermediaries, attorneys, and more to ensure that the deal goes smoothly. A team mindset is crucial to ensuring the real estate transaction makes it past the closing line.
Time Management
Utilizing good time management is critical to your success. You will be managing multiple tasks at once and there are many items that can take up your time but do not keep you productive. Utilizing time blocking, coming into the office, and building relationships will help you best find what is most important to running and growing your business.
Marketing
You don’t have to have good marketing skills to be an excellent real estate agent, but if you aren’t a marketing expert then you better work with a real estate brokerage that has a marketing team behind them and can deliver for your clients’ needs. If you are an expert marketer, you may be best suited to start a marketing agency instead of a real estate career.
Real Estate Market Analysis
Helping buyers and sellers with pricing recommendations is something you are depended upon to do. This includes understanding and analyzing market data and trends as well as helping clients make decisions that are in their best interest.
Adaptability
Real estate is an ever-evolving industry. It is important that you are open to new ways of doing business and changing your skillset to meet the needs of buyers and sellers.
At ARTI Academics, our team designs classes based on the skills you will need to succeed in the real estate market. We collaborate with industry professionals to learn from their experiences. Additionally, the instructors will provide forward-thinking and diverse insights to help you launch a successful real estate career. Please visit ARTI academics and develop your skill sets by enrolling in our classes or certificates.

Nevada 90 Day Renewal Extension- COVID 19 Guidance
The Nevada Real Estate Division has issued temporary licensing guidance in Response to COVID-19. This authorizes Nevada licensees with renewals between March 15 and May 31 to have a 90 day extension. See official notification below:
The Nevada Real Estate Division is working to support and respond to the needs and concerns of our Real Estate community. The Division has been monitoring the situation in Nevada through the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) and its page dedicated to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In an abundance of caution, the Division is granting real estate licensees renewing between March 15 and May 31, 2020 a temporary 90-day extension to complete the live-instruction portion of their continuing education requirement. First-time licensees completing post-licensing education with upcoming renewals between March 15 and May 31, 2020 will also be allowed a 90-day extension.
Licensees are still required to renew their licenses by submitting a completed renewal form and paying renewal fees with the Division on or before their regular renewal date. At renewal, licensees will be provided an extension letter by the Division for the remaining education to be completed by live instruction. Licensees will be required to submit certificates of attendance for the remaining live-instruction education within the 90-day extension period.
We understand that this is an active and evolving situation and the Division will provide further guidance as necessary and appropriate. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the Division directly at (702) 486-4033.
For updates on COVID-19, please visit your local health authority’s website, the CDC, or the Nevada State Division of Public and Behavioral Health.
Do You Offer Real Estate Broker Licensing Courses?
ARTI Academics sole focus is on helping real estate agents be successful (here's an overview on the difference between a Broker and an Agent). We currently do not offer Real Estate Broker licensing courses. The reason is because there are relatively few Broker's in real estate compared with Agents. In fact, most people each day helping others buy and sell real estate are Real Estate Agents. That being said, we do offer continuing education courses which are available to agents and brokers alike, of course at no cost. Our real estate school courses are designed with you in mind and really tailored to help you succeed in the business. That's why you notice our course offerings so different from other real estate schools in the marketplace.

What Is The Real Estate MLS
One of the rarely discussed topics in Real Estate School is the Multiple Listing Service, or MLS. The MLS is software that Agents and Brokerages can participate in that encourages cooperation between real estate brokerages and outlines how fees will be shared. All other services the MLS provides are secondary to these. In short, when you represent a buyer in a real estate transaction that is listed by another member of the same MLS, there is an written arrangement you will get paid a commission of the amount specified in the listing documentation.
Other Considerations:
In some instances the MLS provides additional resources, such as data on past real estate transactions that can be used for comparative market analyses. It is also not uncommon for them to provide showing services, lockboxes, forms, listing syndication and other integrations. While offered as a service an agent is not required to use the products. Each MLS provides their own offerings as directed by the members.
Service Area:
The MLS is not actually a single entity nationwide, but each geographic region typically has their own. For example, Las Vegas, Nevada has their own MLS and in some instances, a real estate agent may participate and be a member in several, or none at all. Many real estate companies do not participate in an MLS at all, including commercial real estate brokerages and boutique shops.
Fees:
Being a member of a multiple listing service does have a cost. Depending on the area, you should expect the MLS itself to cost between $50 and $200 per month. In some markets, the MLS fees are incorporated into the local board of realtor fees.
