Before diving into the process, it’s important to meet the basic qualifications for obtaining a real estate license in Utah. According to the Utah Division of Real Estate, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess honesty, integrity, and a good reputation (per Utah Code Annotated 61-2f-203(1)(c))
• Provide a valid Social Security number

If you meet these criteria, you’re ready to begin your journey to becoming a licensed real estate agent.

The next major step is to complete 120 hours of approved pre-licensing education at a certified real estate school. Normally, this is where the largest expense comes in. However, ARTI Academics offers this pre-license education completely free. Once you’ve completed your 120 hours of education, you’ll need to pass the Utah Real Estate Sales Agent Exam. The exam consists of two parts:
